Chairperson – Zablon Mlawasi
Zablon Mlawasi is a member elected trustee and the Chairperson of the Board
of Trustees who is serving his first term. He is a certified trustee, having
undergone the Trustee Development Program Kenya (TDPK).
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Information Technology and a
Diploma in 3D Graphic Design and Multimedia. He also holds a certification
in Geospatial Database Development and Management. He has undergone
various on-job trainings in GIS and Remote Sensing, Leadership and
Governance, Risk and Audit, ISMS among others.
Zablon boasts of 15 years’ experience in Geospatial Information Systems
and Remote Sensing, mapping and analysis in the green energy sector at
Geothermal Development Company (GDC). He previously had a 4-year stint in
the private sector prior to joining his current employer.
He has served in various roles including the GDC Staff Welfare Club, where he
served as the Treasurer and later as the Chairperson leading the club to great
administrative milestones. He has also undergone additional training on supervisory skills.
He has also been part of various community projects to equip the young and
vulnerable with skill sets for life.
His wealth of experience gives him the requisite competency to steer the
GDCSRBS to greater heights.
